About Philadelphia Men’s Therapy
Supporting Men’s Mental Health and Wellbeing in Philly and Across PA
Though there has been much needed social progress over the last few decades, men’s mental health is one area that has been in decline. Despite an evolving social landscape, men often share a sense of feeling boxed in and left behind. They want to move forward with their own growth and development, but they struggle with notions of identity, meaning, purpose, and are unsure of how to proceed.
Identity and sexuality
Loneliness and isolation
Finding a sustainable work-life balance
Sexual difficulties and relationships
Stress and anxiety
Life transitions

If any of these issues resonate with you, or you’re confronting others you may wish to explore with me, reach out and let’s talk.

About Jake
Jake Horowitz, LCSW
I started Philadelphia Men’s Therapy after a decade of experience in the mental health realm. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, facilitating both individual and group work, prior to opening my private practice in Philadelphia in 2019.
In the years since starting my practice, my focus has gradually shifted to centering entirely on work with male-identified clients. I help men manage anxiety, stress, depression and life transitions, and specialize in supporting folks in navigating the complexities of dating, relationships, identity, and sexuality. I also have expertise in treating male sexual dysfunction.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness, with a strong emphasis on developing and enhancing coping strategies.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work with a Master’s degree, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). In addition to work in my private practice, I am associated with the Philatherapy Network, a therapy collective focused on individual, relationship and sex therapy. I am completing a Sex Therapy training certificate program through the University of Michigan to become an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
In addition to running Philadelphia Men’s Therapy, I work with Drexel in Partnership with St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, serving patients and families confronting HIV/AIDS. I am also on the board of the Philly-based, Men’s Center for Growth and Change, an organization focused on providing services and support for boys and men in the Philadelphia area.
